A thermoformed sheath platform developed around an approved blade or tool reference, protected-edge envelope, insertion path, retention method and installed mounting system.
Sheath architecture
The cavity and contact zones must retain the item without placing unintended load on a sharpened or finished edge. Eyelet spacing, mounting holes and trim boundaries should be released with the chosen belt or MOLLE interface.
Program decisions
| Decision | Buyer input | Approval evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Fit reference | Approved physical item or controlled 3D/dimensional data | Seating, clearance and repeat insertion review |
| Retention | Contact zones, release direction and required adjustment | Agreed functional check |
| Protection | Edge clearance, point coverage and drainage/cleaning needs | Section, light-gap or configured inspection |
| Mounting | Eyelets, holes, belt/MOLLE adapter and orientation | Installed assembly and fastener clearance |
Sample approval focus
Inspect protected-edge clearance, seating depth, rattle, retention and release, drainage path, trim finish, eyelet setting and mounting stability using the approved item and assembly.
