2. Controlled heating
The objective is even temperature through the sheet, not simply a hot surface. The manufacturer’s thermoforming guidance recommends different forming ranges by thickness and warns against heating too quickly. Process settings must be developed for the actual oven, sheet grade and geometry.
3. Forming over the reference
Vacuum, pressure or matched forming brings the softened sheet into contact with the tool or controlled reference. 4. Cooling and demolding
The part remains supported until it is cool enough to resist distortion. Removing it too early can change geometry and repeatability. Cooling conditions belong in the process specification.
5. CNC or fixture-guided trimming
Excess material is removed and the final outline, slots and holes are produced. Hole location controls hardware alignment; the edge profile influences comfort, appearance and resistance to stress concentration.
6. Edge finishing and assembly
Edges are smoothed and polished to the agreed finish. Eyelets, posts, spacers, screws, clips, loops or mounting interfaces are installed to a defined configuration.
