Capture the real device envelope
A radio model name may not identify the complete carrying geometry. Battery variants, belt clips, remote microphones and side connectors can alter the envelope. The development reference should show the production configuration and any accessories that remain attached.

Retention and mounting
Define whether retention is passive, adjustable or supplemented by a strap. Then specify belt, MOLLE or other interface, preferred orientation and whether the user must operate the radio one-handed.
Sample approval
Test insertion, removal, control access, cable routing, rattle, fastener clearance and installed movement. Photograph the approved device configuration and record its identifiers with the sample.
